Registration for Confirmation will be held ONLINE ONLY from
Midnight on June 8th through 12:00pm on June 12th.
Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please register early!
Registration Schedule:
June 8 – 10: St. Joseph Parishioners residing in Los Banos.
June 11 – 12: Residents outside of Los Banos (requires a letter of permission from your home parish)
Program Requirements & Fees:
Confirmation Age: Must be 16 years old by the time of the Sacrament.
Documents: Birth, Baptism, and First Communion Certificates; Medical Insurance Card.
Fees: 1st Year: $85.00 2nd Year: $170.00 ($85.00 registration + $85.00 retreat fee)
Things to have in mind while preparing for Confirmation:
- What is Confirmation?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1285), “by the sacrament of Confirmation, (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” - Saint that I like or feel close to (if you do not have one look one up on https://www.catholic.org/saints/
- What is supposed to be a Sponsor?
Whether you are 1st-Year Confirmation or 2nd-Year Confirmation, you will eventually arrive to the point of needing a sponsor before being Confirmed by your Bishop. Below are couple videos to help answer questions you might have regarding why someone can or cannot be a sponsor and what it means to practice the faith.
4. Service hours. While it might seem like a check off list when it comes to service hours I want you to keep in mind this….“see a need, fill a need” Fr. Mike Schmitz. This is what a formed catholic should think.

Cosas que deben tomar en cuenta mientras se preparan para la Confirmación:
- ¿Qué es la Confirmación?
De acuerdo con el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica (1285), “el sacramento de la Confirmación une (a los bautizados) más íntimamente a la Iglesia y los enriquece con una fortaleza especial del Espíritu Santo. De esta forma quedan obligados aún más, como auténticos testigos de Cristo, a extender y defender la fe con sus palabras y sus obras.” - Santo que me gusta o con quien me siento cercano. - ¿Qué se supone que es un padrino?
Ya sea que estén en primer año de Confirmación ó en segundo año, eventualmente llegarán al punto de necesitar un padrino/madrina antes de ser Confirmado por el Obispo. A continuación se muestran algunos videos que le ayudarán a responder las preguntas que puedan tener sobre por qué alguien puede o no puede ser un padrino y qué significa practicar la fe.
4. Horas de servicio. Si bien puede parecer una lista de verificación cuando se trata de horas de servicio, quiero que tenga en cuenta esto … “vea una necesidad, llena esa necesidad”. Mike Schmitz. Esto es lo que debería pensar un católico formado.
